Abstract Typography (Self Publishing)

Image
This workshop intends to create more familiarity in considering typefaces —what are their key features and characteristics?—generating other work from established but disrupted forms, re-organizing their lyric and nature in new compositions. Using a similar process (stencil); we had to dismantle, disconnect and disrupt three typefaces to form three new images on A2 paper. Project references Cecil Touchon is a painter, performance artist, collector, draftsman, photographer, and curator. But it is through the collage work that he has made his most lasting mark. Touchon's paintings are abstractions based upon typography. Using the techniques of collage, he reassembles portions of letter fonts from billboards and printed material into pure abstractions that transform verbal language into a form of visual architecture. I began to cut out my stencils of certain characteristics of different fonts. Using the stencil, I painted across to create a new composition.

Basic Video Editing - Lesson 5

Image
This workshop teaches us basic editing, using Adobe Premiere and Audition to create a showreel and editing a soundtrack to fit the flow of the reel. Importing a collection of images and organizing them on the timeline. We also added a basic transition between images. Viewing the soundwave of the soundtrack used, we were able to mark key parts of the sound, especially at peaks where there is a significant beat. Exporting the showreel and its settings. We then used animations for the next showreel, we used a basic fade in transition between videos, as well as faded out the soundtrack at the end with credits.
