3D Project (After Effects Workshop Four)

Image
This After Effects workshop involved working with Z-space, cameras, and animation in 3 dimensions. With 3D tools and advanced composting, I was able to construct a 10-second 3D scene with added textures, objects, and special effects. In this workshop we looked a few references, after the workshop, I have also added a few of my own references that I found related to this workshop. With the use of spacing and textures, this wonderful project uses a sticker roll-up effect which is timed to the music. I really like the variety of textures which all come together really nicely as well as the camera movement which zooms out to reveal a new scene with smaller animations. Workshop One - The Stencil Information - Inspired by the events of May 1968, student revolt that began in a suburb of Paris and was soon joined by a general strike eventually involving some 10 million workers, spurred an artistic movement, with songs, imaginative graffiti, posters, and slogans but also intense violence. Students and faculty staff took over the Ecole des Beaux Arts to establish the Atelier Populaire (the Popular Workshop). The organisation went on to produce hundreds of silkscreen posters in an unprecedented outpouring of political graphic art. In a statement, the Atelier Populaire declared the posters “weapons in the service of the struggle… an inseparable part of it. Their rightful place is in the centres of conflict, that is to say, in the streets and on the walls of the factories.” This poster titled, Return to Normal, describes the twin diseases of complacency and apathy. Since it was widely felt by striking students and workers that their paralyzing strikes

Sub Object Modelling - Part 1 Cel Shading - Part 2 Basic Rigging - Part 3 This session introduced me to the processes around sub-object 3d modelling. The outcome of this workshop will be a simple 3d character model suitable for basic rigging, sculpting or 3d printing. I first started with a simple shape and then extruded the polygons of the shape in certain directions to make a 3D character model. I experimented with the shape of the character to make it appear smoother and rounder. I then added materials to add colour to the character, I also added a cel-shading effect to give it a more toon look with the colours I chose. Character Model from Angela Jones on Vimeo . After the workshop, I researched more about character 3D modelling and some of the projects that use this technique. I specifically looked at low poly modelling as I really like the style and it's simpler to create. Low Poly - Arctic animation Low Poly - Arctic animat
